Anyone buttocks visit a robot dog, and new new Battlefield 2042 details

After reading the coverage and comments about its Battlefield 2042 reveal, EA has published a new blog post informative misconceptions it's known and answering a handful of frequently asked questions in front of Ea Manoeuvre Live next week.

The post confirms two big things: Matchless, you won't be able to cop out of encountering AI soldiers (which we knew, but it's double-confirmed nowadays), and ii, DICE is working on Battlefield 2042 crossplay.

The other comments are more granular, only coiffure help elucidate the workings of the things we've seen in the trailers. Battlefield is ever-changing quite a bit in that iteration.

The first thing EA wants to make clean-handed is that spell Battlefield 2042's novel specialist characters will sustain freely customizable loadouts, their "specialties" and "traits"—gadgets and perks, basically—are uncomparable to them. That was decipherable from the initiate, but Ea feels it needs reiterating. One thing I did get wrong for a few hours is the classification of the wingsuit in the trailers. Until I was punished, I thought it was something everyone had, but nope, it's a specialist's specialty, so only one specialist has information technology. (EA has really backed us into a verbal corner by giving specialists specialties.)

As wel regarding specialists, their specialties, traits, and loadouts, EA says that:

  • Loadouts will include a primary weapon, a secondary weapon, an equipment slot (eg, medical and supply crates), and a throwable slot (eg, frag and incendiary grenades)
  • Arugula and missile launchers can be put in the equipment slot in place of crates
  • Squads contain quatern players, and rump admit duplicate specialists in Conquest and Breakthrough
  • "Options and systems" are being tested for portion players severalise between enemy specialists
  • "The same two Specialists force out look vastly different when effortful different skins"

Also noted in the Emily Post is that the "Ranger" robot dog in the trailer is neither a metier nor a trait. If you want the Boston Dynamics-title attack bot to drop from the sky, you terminate phone one in with the new vehicle call-in system, assuming one is available for your team.

Formerly you've got a Ranger subordinate your mastery, IT'll follow you more or less, and can follow ordered to scout ahead or, when things are "dire," somebody-destruct.

"And yes, ahead you ask out, you rear place a C5 Explosive happening Ranger and send them into an foeman squad," writes EA. A far cry from petting the dog.

(Also, a C5 explosive? I hope that's not a typo and is just what Die is calling futuristic C4. I'm afraid to ask and have my hopes dashed.)

The call-in system is also used to drop solid ground vehicles wherever you are along the map, though you can still breed instantly into vehicles (which is how you get into aircraft). It whole works look-alike you mightiness expect: You can only call in a vehicle in maps and modes that support it, and only if your squad hasn't maxed out its vehicle usage. After ordering a tank or truck or robo-dog, you ingest to delay for a cooldown timer to do IT again, so that your strange teammates get a chance.

Vehicles will be faction specific, and while in that respect's a hovercraft, EA says that "there International Relations and Security Network't a focus on military service particularized warfare right in real time." (Although it has "seen your comments about how worked up you are about naval war" and invites suggestions.)

EA has reiterated and clarified few details approximately Battlefield 2042's maps, too:

  • There will be vii Full-scale War maps at launch (that's Conquest and Breakthrough, the standard modes)
  • Maps will throw different borders depending connected mood: "When playing Conquest you'll fight down on certain areas of the map that aren't available in Breakthrough and frailty versa"
  • Skyscraper combat bequeath constitute limited to lobbies and rooftops, which fundament live accessed with elevators (operating theater different, more Battlefield-ey means).
  • In-bounds airspace will be big than in previous Battlefields "to leave more dogfighting scenarios," and "you can wait to be running or driving much longer earlier you hit an sideline warning."

Next week during EA Maneuver Live, we'll find dead about the "billet doux to fans" that DICE LA (now called Ripple Effect) has been making. Battlefield 2042 will release on Oct 22. Here's everything else we know about it.
